So I asked my millinery tutor, "What is the little stalk on top of the beret for?" I know it's kind of a silly question but, it always seemed to me that it was there for a reason. You know like the end of the woolen chain that knit together the beret.
NOPE.
It is a creative choice. Someone, somewhere thought it was a good idea. Honestly, I kind of agree. It's pretty cute.
So I made this hat a little while back. It's design is based on this 40's hat that I spied in one of the local vintage shops. The original was actually a half size type hat in a navy blue. It was amazing and I'm trying to make a hat that is even closer to that hat in size. This one is more wearable as an everyday hat.

The top of the hat has, what someone described as a nipple. Different, oh yes.
The guest list is some what squared away. I'm sure as the day gets closer there will be some squabbles. But, on to the fun stuff. Like plates!
